Hey there,

I've recently come across a weird problem related to sound.

Basically, everything was working fine a few days back but after I shifted all my things to a new CPU case, a problem started in which the sound only worked after having something played with
audio-playback (YouTube videos, songs, etc.).

It has no sound after Windows startup but starts after whatever's mentioned above.

What I've tried :

• Updating sound drivers
• Reinstalling Windows
• Checked cables (couldn't be this anyways)

Additional Information :

One the sound starts, it remains good until I shut down or reboot the PC.

My specs :

Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit
2GB RAM
AMD Athlon II X3 Dual Core - 2.70GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GT620 (2GB)

Speakers Model : UMAX UPB 3500, 2.1 speakers

Thank you for sparing your time to read this thread. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Solution
Try Start > In search type 'Device Manager' > Under Sound, video and game controllers > (right click) update drivers > if nothing > (right click) uninstall.

If there are more than one devices under Sound, video and game controllers and your not sure which one post them here and I will tell you which one to uninstall.

Also if your speakers audio jack, usb, etc.?

It doesn't work instantly after starting something like that, but when I keep it playing for some time, it automatically starts itself and remains good until I shutdown or restart the PC.

Uh, there're four speakers being displayed under the menu.
"NVIDIA High Definition Audio"
"NVIDIA High Definition Audio"
"NVIDIA High Definition Audio"
"NVIDIA High Definition Audio"
"NVIDIA Virtual Audo Device (Wave Extensible) (WDM)"
"VIA High Definition Audo"

I tried uninstalling and relocating all of them but none worked.

Also, my speakers are audio jack. (Model mentioned above)
