sound not working

Can I get sound when vokume is broken if hooked up through surrond system. Will that work for allchannels? Thx

So let me get this correct. Your volume knob is broken on the stereo speakers? If you put it through your surround system, it will work? probably not, as the surround system should have it's own amplifier, and if it is not receiving an input because the volume is set to low, then it cannot amplify it.

Need more information.

If the volume control that is broken is on your TV then you should get sound from the optical audio output since that does not go through the volume control.
