Most current TVs only have an optical digital audio output. If your sound system does not have this kind of input then you have two options. If you use a set top box to get your channels then you can connect that to your sound system with standard audio cables. If not then you will need an digital to analog converter to change the digital optical connection to an analog electrical L/R audio connection.

You need an Optical Cable connected from your TV to your Sound System or Home Theatre.
