Soundbar and headphones

Hi.
I have a problem hearing speech clearly and would like to get a soundbar which I think would help me but I am concerned that my headphones, that I connect to my TV when watching movies may not work. I am considering buying the Samsung HWF750 Soundbar. My equipment is as follows.. TV Samsung Ue55d8000. Cambridge Azur 751BD Player. Virgin Media cable box. Also as my TV is over 2 years old would the soundbar connect wirelessly to it and the TV remote operate the soundbar.

Headphones will still work. The soundbar connection will not be wireless, it would connect to the optical out on the TV. The TV remote may operate the soundbar, but you'd have to check with Samsung to know for sure.
