Soundbar and LG OLED

I cannot get my Bose sound bar controlled by LG Magic Link.

how is your Bose connected to it? With my samsung TV, I had to change my sound input in the TV settings to go through the soundbar rather than the tv speakers.

I have done this several times. I get the sound from the TV to the soundbar and can actually run both TV speakers and soundbar without any distortion. However I cannot control the soundbar with the LG remote which is a Magiclink.

Your soundbar should have it's own remote. Magic Link controls your TV, not an external speaker.

Yes and I control the soundbar with its remote. However I can control other devices with the Magiclink like cable setup box without any problem. Just wondering if someone has any specific experience with LG's Magiclink. I have scoured Bose support etc without success. Manual for LG says I should be able to control Bose volume and on off.

Thanks but I have gone through this set up many times but still cannot control the sound bar with the Magiclink. I think it has something to do with the Simplink not working (none of the 4 types will work). I will continue using the Bose remote which is not the end of the world. Thanks again.
