This sort of thing would generate a lot more public interest if they didn't announce it at all in advance. Let it spread by word of mouth that some astronauts are "hanging out" on g+ from the ISS, and I guarantee, the media will make a huge deal of it. Larger than if it seems like an orchestrated event.
