Speakers work only in front headphone jack, rear jacks dont work. Why?

Hello,

I have an ASUS cg5270, Widnows 7 with a logitech 2.1 speaker system. I have to plug in the speaker system to the front headphone jack. I used to be able to use any of the rear jacks and get sound. Now, even when i plug the system in any of the rear ports, every indicator on the computer shows that there is sound.

I tried going to device manager>sound, video and game controllers, and found 4 "NVIDIA High definition audio" and one "realtek high definition audio." I checked for updates on all of the drivers.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

This topic may be relevent to you since you also have a realtek audio. I really can't add any more than I already have under that post.
