Hi
I recently bought a Lenovo Y50-70 with a faulty hard drive. I went to a local tech repair shop and they replaced it with an SSD but had to remove the top of the SSD because it was not a SLIM hardrive. They then said to be careful to not put pressure on the SSD. I am simply wondering will removing half the case (the part touching keyboard side) affect the SSD and should I find some way to insulate it.

Solution
I'd take the laptop back and have them replace the old HDD asap. That is one poor shop to do something like that. Then get the correct size SSD and have a reputable shop do the work. Just my opinion...
