Steelseries Siberia V2 vs AKG K271 MkII Differences?

I've been researching a lot on headphones and I'm looking forward to it if I manage to sell my GPU's after they come back from RMA.
I currently own the Steelseries Siberia V2

My mind has settled to an AKG K271 MkII.

What I have been looking for is:
1. A tad more sub bass than the V2's
2. Soundstage equal or better than the V2's
3. High's less harsh than the V2's.

However being a student, money is not easy to come by so I need a pair of headphones under $220 CAD [including tax].

Now I'm doubting my choice because:
1. The AKG is only 2hz lower and 2khz higher. Will this make much difference? How about terms in clarity?
2. The AKG is a closed back headphone so how well will the soundstage compared to the V2's?
3. It's not that I don't mind a flat/neutral sound, but I should be able to use an equalizer and receive somewhat decent sub bass
4. I've heard that the AKG needs an amplifier

So after all that my final question is:
Should I buy a Creative X-fi Titanium that goes with my current V2's.
Or go for the AKG's and use my onboard audio with Supreme FX iii?

Any alternative headphones [not headsets] under $220CAD [including tax] is welcome.
Except for:
ATH-M50 [No soundstage]
ATH-A700/A700x/AD700/Ad700x [Probably not enough bass compared to Siberia's]
DT-770 [Out of my price range]
Senn HD518's [Too laid back/heard about rolled off high's]

I love using the virtual 7.1 to locate enemy planes in BF3's Air Superiority
I listen to techno, rock, some classical [love hearing piano solos], acoustic guitar [hearing the strings being plucked makes my day]

I've never personally used Steelseries products, but if it's like any of the other company that makes "gaming audio product," I wouldn't expect much. Most gamers don't use audiophile headphones anyways, they are fooled into buying crappy headphones like the Razer Tiamat.

So basically I'd say no matter what you want a good set of cans from a reputable audio company.

If you buy audiophile headphones you want a one of these, not on board:

Creative Titanium HD
Creative Zx Series
Asus Sonar Essence

Unless your around other people when your listening to music, go with open. Closed will keep out the environment and keep sound to you.

The Creative Zx has a headphone amplifier too.

I use ATH-A900X for my general gaming and listening to music with a titanium HD. I've tried a lot of headphones from gaming companies from stereo to mulch-channel, never heard one that sounded good.
