On a competitive note. My family has two HTC Evo's and neither phone has experienced signal loss or a dropped call in an area where it wasn't expected. ie: at my office desk in a building where no one gets a signal i have 0 bars hence I don't expect a call to be successful.

I do not think that is why all of us don't like Apple. I, personally, have a lot of money, but I still won't purchase anything Apple because I like to DO things with my technology, free of restraint.

[citation][nom]cozalp[/nom]Reminds me of jedi mind trick.+Hey! This thing loses signal...-There Are No Reception Issues!+There Are No Reception Issues.[/citation]
Lol, so funny.

How could you even say that? It's not remotely humorous. I really think you and whoever called that a useful message need to get your heads checked because there must be something seriously wrong with you. You took it way too far

This is why I don't like Apple products:
It's all or nothing mentality of the users. I do not wish to participate in the cult following. I have free will and choose to exercise it.

Iv'e tidied up this thread.

YES ... we are now moderating TG Forums ...

Play nice or I remove you from the field.

You are holding it all wrong, there is no reception issues. In fact, there is no issues at all -- All apple products are 110% perfectly perfect.

I also thought it sounded like the Jedi mind trick to me - I just wonder if S.J. realizes it doesn't work. (...and if it did, it probably wouldn't work over email!)

It also sounds like something from the Ministry of Truth. Guess 1984 was more of an inspiration/guidebook than a warning...

[citation][nom]Houndsteeth[/nom]You know, we like to blame Apple and Steve for the problem with the iPhone...but tbh, the FCC and AT&T figure into this equation as well. The FCC regulates that the antenna cannot be too close to the brain, so the antenna is located at the bottom of the phone near the mouth piece, which is unfortunately where folks are going to be placing their hands.Since the antenna is part of the exposed metal frame, this means that when a hand is placed in the right way, the signal is interrupted by someone grounding out the antenna. Hence, the bumper goes a long way to eliminate this problem. So if you have an iPhone 4 and are worried about reception issues, get a bumper. As to the software update, I am willing to wait to see what Apple has to deliver. My history with them has been very good with regards to delivering fixes to known issues I have experienced directly with their hardware/software.[/citation]

Blame the FCC? If FCC regulations were to blame, every phone should experience the iPhone reception issue (which obviously doesn't exist, His Jobsness said it...). Last time I looked, other brands don't experience this issue. Older iPhones don't experience this issue. The iPhone 4 does. Odd...

Apple's update history is very good? How many security holes in MacOSX go unpatched for months, if not years? And besides, fixing a hardware issue with a software update? Now that'd be real magic. Maybe the iPhone is a magical device after all..

There are plenty of reception issues, your ears are one of them Steve. You don't listen to your customers because you think you know everything when in fact you know very little.

[citation][nom]rantoc[/nom]LOL good one, brainwashed cultists usualy refuse to believe anything bad about their views![/citation]
Agreed, that goes for Winblows and Crapbox 360 users as well.

"Stay Tuned"

Folks, it implies the issue will be resolved in iPhone 4.001.
In the meantime, the people who have purchased iPhone 4 obviously have grown tired of that. Jobbs will be encouraging them to junk that one & get the 4.001

Is the iPhone 4 all its cracked up to be? Yes. The hardware and software finally work in unison making it the best smartphone available today. No, I'm not drinking the kool-aid. For the first time in the history of the iPhone, I actually like this one and I'm recommending it to everyone. Will it reign supreme forever and ever? Depends on who you ask. Some folks are partial to the BlackBerry or to Android devices. Me? I'm beginning to leave my BlackBerry at home more and more.

Stay tuned! I get it! After all these years that old coot still has a sense of humor. I love it. Meanwhile I am going to keep using my "pathetic", "dated" blackberry which has no problem making calls or checking emails no matter how I hold it.

Jobs has already stated that theres no signal loss when the bars drop.
Theres no way to fix the gounding issue with a firmware update...but you can tweak the indicator bar to hide the problem. Jobs you sly dog you.

'Jobs is right... It is a software issue. YOU are the software. And YOU are holding the phone wrong. Do I even have to /sarcasm?'

What? What a ridiculous post.

If you press a button on the front of the phone, and the phone software does something unexpected, do you blame the software, or the user? The software of course.

The same is true in this case - the software is responding in the wrong way when a user holds the phone in a certain way.

What's so hard to get?
