Solved! Still getting sound of tv show when firestick plugged in

The HDMI port on my marantz amplifier that I used to use for streaming no longer works. I plugged the firestick into the HDMI on the tv and get the picture but regardless of whether I set the sound to come out of the tv or the amp I get the streaming picture but the sound coming through the surround sound system or the Samsung tv is that of the cable show on the tv.

Try changing the audio settings of the Firestick.
Since the problem happens through both the TV speakers and amp I would check any menus in the TV too.
Worse case you can add an HDMI input selector to the Marantz receiver to expand the number of working HDMI inputs. Some are automatic so will switch inputs when you turn on a connected source.
