Question Stop Chrome from creating tabs

A software question. I have a Lenovo M10 3rd Generation. Everytime I view a website in Chrome it creates a new tab. This results in an endless collection of useless tabs across the top of the Chrome browser. Is there any way to change that?

It seems like a pretty easy thing, but it's not really easy and seems like no development has happened to make it a function. Look up re-use existing tab in chrome online and you will find some things, most from several years ago, but none are very user friendly.

Sorry I didn't get back to thank you for responding. At least I found out how to delete them all at once . Chrome also does the same with websites and then complains when you reach 99.
