Hey everybody! I'm looking to buy a low-end gaming laptop here in Canada (the land of high prices) and have it narrowed down to two:

Asus K501UX-DH71-CA

Asus ROG GL771JW-DS71

Comparison page:

The K50 is $150 cheaper because it's not refurbished, so already has a warranty, and has free shipping.

The ROG seems to have a more powerful processor, and better storage though.

Thoughts? Is the $150 worth it?

If you are willing to pay $150 more for the refurbished model, why not add an extra $50 and get this brand new one instead?

It comes with a GTX 970M 3 GB graphics card which is much better for gaming. All you have to modify is under the 2.5" Storage Options. Under 2.5" Bay 1, select the 240 GB SSD that's on sale, and under 2.5" Bay 2, select the 1 TB 7200 RPM hard drive that's on sale (in that order to save about $50). Leave all other options untouched, and the total cost is about $1,250.

By the way, if you can live without the SSD you can save almost $100.
