Sub $1000 video editing laptop

I'm looking for a laptop for moderate video editing while still being relatively portable. Windows is perfered, but if the MacBook pro retina is really good I could save up for that. I wouldn't need more than 250 GB of storage really, most of my documents are on the cloud. An SSD is prefered and a 1080p+ screen is ideal. Thanks for your help!

Look into the n series for asus. They are good for video editing and they are relatively portable. The macbook is a good option if you like macs as they are used for video editing a lot.
