sudden crash the battery which offered an excellent 2.5hrs of battery life till yesterday.

I used to get 2.5 hour of battery live with medium brightness after full charging.Which is pretty cool for me.I use to keep the laptop in sleep mode with fully charged at night. After 12 hours or so when I again start it barely depletes 4-5 percent .means 95 percent still remaining/ but suddenly I saw it is showing 13 % today.& it took only 30 second to jump at 1% remaining.but after that I connected power.Here also the charging wasn't happening.It stayed 0% after approx 2hrs of connected to charger.I removed the battery asap & kept it 2hr outside.But when I again put that back It still showed same problem.How can I solve this?? what happened??Help me. I dont
understand which used to give 2.5hrs of battery life till yesterday why suddenly crashed like this??

It sounds like you need a new battery. It happens. They do go over time.
