Hello,

Here are my preferences :

What will be your primary usage for the notebook be : Gaming (should be able to play witcher 3 on acceptable settings :p)

What size and weight considerations do you have: Size and weight doesn't matter.

Any brand that you prefer, or any brand that you detest : Lenovo and HP

Any other considerations : Display color and viewing angle matters and only nVidia Graphics Card.

SO far i got one in my mind that is Lenovo Z50-70. It has 8 GB ram with Nvidia 840m 4gb graphics.

And another one is Lenovo Y510P with GT 755m GDDR5.

I'm unfamiliar with the prices here, but if the Y50 and Y510 are the same price as the site lists, the Y50 would be a better option due to the inclusion of the GTX 860M graphics (I cannot even compare on the US site since the Y510 has been discontinued here in favor of the 410). I'm not positive that it's the standard or upgrade option though, as the site is a little limited on information. Otherwise these are fine models for Lenovo, and you probably can't get much better with HP (Granted I'm taking a guess here since HP's India site isn't loading properly for me.

here in india prices for Y50 and Y510 are not same except the Lenovo's website.
And some online retailers showing that the Y510p has been discontinued and moreover SLI ultrabay isn't available anywhere.

and what do you think how nVidia 4GB 840m DDR3 weighs against GT 755m 2GB GDDR5 non sli

Alright, never mind the Y50 then. When comparing the 840M and 755M, the 755M is the faster and more power-hungry card. The extra 2GB of RAM isn't helpful enough in the midrange graphics line right now to justify the 840M card, the best benefit you would receive from that would be if you were using the laptop as a desktop replacement and had more than one monitor when you played games. However, the CPU may also be a driving factor with systems sporting those two cards depending on the rest of the specs.

ok so i think 2GB 840m with i5 and 8gb ram is good enough to handle games at 1366x766 (720p)

In future i can expand ram and can also go for a SSD. I have seen that SSD works wonders. Now i have a lot of options xD

Thanks,

The 820M will play most games (except for the most demanding ones) at low detail and 1024x768, 2013 and older games mostly at 1366x768. The 755M on the other hand will run even Assassin's Creed IV at 1366x768, which the 820M can't handle. the 755 is a better card.
