Solved! Surface Pro 3 Showing only Half Storage

so i have the i5 with 8gb of ram version and on the back it says 256gb, but the storage only reports a 118gb drive, i cant find any other storage or partitions in the drive manager either

no, thats why i was wondering, its basically not possible to take one apart safley and if someone did why would they put a smaller drive in, disk management says a 118gb partition but shows nothing else

Put a sticker showing a larger drive and sell it as such.

Check the serial number at Microsoft.

this serial on microsoft does say its the 3 with 256gb
