Question Surface pro 7 microphone issues

Hello, I currently am having issues with my microphone not picking up sound regularly. I have noticed that when I put it on "listen" the microphone works normally, but the sound turns into chaos as the microphone and speaker go back and forth. I've already tried contacting customer support at Microsoft, and we tried everything from installing drivers, rolling back updates, and even "refreshing" the pc. Any help is appreciated.
