Surround Sound to Android Box and TV

I'm trying to connect my surround sound system to my streaming android box for surround sound out of the tv. The home theatre is Coby DVD-925. There is no HDMI port on the home theater. When I play a movie everything is fine as far as the sound and picture. But when I play the box I can see the picture when I change my tv to hdmi input but there's no sound. Also the home theatre only has Aux1 and Aux2 inputs which I don't have on my tv. Please help..thank you in advance.

depends on what kind of android box it is. if it one of those gray market ones then depending on the box it may not have surround sound at all

I connected one of the same boxes to my tv and surround system in my living room so I know that there is a way to do it...only difference is that I don't have cable in the bedroom plus different home theatre system altogether

If your TV has a headphone out use that into an aux input and connect the android box to the TV.
If your TV has an optical audio out you will need a DAC to convert to analog audio and connect that to the aux input and connect the android box to the TV

If your TV has no audio outputs you will need an HDMI switch with audio extraction like this one

Connect the android box (and any other sources) to the switch. HDMI switch to TV. Connect the analog audio out of the switcher to the aux input.
