Surround through tv

I have charter cable pace rng110, Sony home theater hbdt79 and a lg 55lm4600 tv. When my husband was alive we had dish network and had it set up surround sound. Now I have charter cable and am not sure how to set it up for surround. The sound goes through the Sony already. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If the sound is coming out of the Sony but not in surround sound check the audio menu in the Dish box to make sure it is set for surround sound. Call Dish to help you with this if needed.
Also check that the Sony is set to Dolby surround mode.
