My old computer had alot of damage but worked fine I want to switch the motherboards and hard drives from one computer to another, will it work?

Solution
If you are switching to a different model motherboard, then your Windows install will probably have to be redone. Anytime a motherboard change happens, a fresh Windows install is recommended. Your current drive might boot or it might not. No way to predict.

3 possible outcomes:

1. It just boots up and works just fine
2. It fails completely
3. It eventually boots up, but you have lingering issues.

I've seen all 3.

Prepare for a clean OS install. Often required, always recommended.

What OS is this?
Desktop or laptop?

Please describe, in detail, exactly what you're doing.

Just changing to a new case is not an issue.

My case has broken hinges on it and it works fine. I got a better one off ebay same as mine. I want to take all the internal parts and put them in the better case. So all I'm doing is installing everything from one to another.

As long as this is not a proprietary Dell or HP/Compaq, should be no problem.
