Sync Your Apple Device with an Existing iTunes Account

If you have purchased a new Apple device or if the device has been reset to factory defaults, there is no data on the internal storage.

If your iOS 7 device does not have any of your data files, you can sync your device with your existing iTunes account to get the data back.

Here is how you can sync your Apple device with an existing iTunes account:

■Log on to your Windows PC.
■Connect your iOS 7 device to the computer with the USB data cable. (iPhone 4S with iOS 7 is used in this demonstration.)
■On the desktop window, open iTunes by double-clicking its icon.
■On the iTunes interface, click the Library button available at the top-right corner.

Note: If your Library is not available at the top-right corner, click View from the top-left corner, and click Hide Sidebar from the displayed options.
■From the next window, click the iPhone option from the top-right corner.

■Once the iPhone device window opens up, ensure that the Summary tab is selected from the top.
■Under the Options section, check the Automatically sync when this iPhone is connected checkbox to sync the phone automatically every time the phone is connected to the PC.
■Finally, click Sync from the bottom-right corner to apply the changes.

Note: When the computer and the iOS device are on the same network, the iOS device (displayed as ‘iPhone’ in this demonstration) will appear in iTunes, and you can sync your Apple device with your iTunes account.

Your Apple device can be synced with your iTunes account when the iOS device is charging, iTunes is opened on the computer, or even when the device and the computer are on the same Wi-Fi network.
