system mechanic and the like

are programs like system mechanic good or total junk? I have it and use it to clean my registry but Im thinking it was a mistake.

if you know what you are doing then all you need is CCleaner its got a registry cleaner in it.

If you don't know what you are doing I find these cleaner tend to help you mess things up more.

remember: always backup registry before editing
