taping from tv to laptop dvd

I have a hp notebook, can I hook it up to my flatscreen tv and burn a dvd of a show??? If so what all would I need?

Yes you can hook up your TV into your laptop give you have the right cable for it. But about your 2nd question, you need to download or have something of a screen recorder to record the show before you can burn it into a DVD.
