Should be some programs in jr high and high schools that teach kids that the stupid drama they experience in school doesn't have a bearing on real life after school is over. If this could be acknowledged and kids eventually getting out of high school without much trouble, we'd be free of a lot of stupidity. High school is not a serious enough setting to burn someone over forty dollars. Some are bound to remain children forever and perpetuate the stupidity though... imagine those culprits who burned that kid will grow up with their flawed sense of pride into our society.

[citation][nom]impulse fire911[/nom]o my god...they ruined this poor boy's life over a video game?!!! the kid will probably never look the same again. if i was that kid id buy a barret .50 and shoot they limbs off one at a time....(but thats just me)[/citation]

He was lit on fire because he reported the bike theft to the police and had the guy arrested. At that point the money didn't matter and the game had nothing to do with it, it was simply retaliation. Still not justified, but it wasn't over 40 bucks or a video game at all, it's just what started the conflict.

Do unto others what others do unto you. This actually does apply in this case, but then the poor, poor burnt chap will be in Jail with the FuckIn Assholes. Getting Burnt really, really hurts. God Damn fuckIn Scum of the earth bastards

Truly sad and pathetic. They should honestly be tried for stupidity on an epic scale (and as adults.) 40$ = worth nearly killing for? WTF is wrong with them?

Honestly, it sounded more like they were mad that he reported the bike robbery than the $40 debt. "Snitch" isn't normally the term used for a late debts. Sounds like, they got in trouble with the law and wanted revenge, but you are correct, there is definitely something wrong with them to go to this extreme.

The suspect then allegedly stole Brewer's father's bicycle, which was reported to the police. The suspect was arrested but was subsequently released to his parents.

The suspect and two other youths later approached Brewer at the apartment complex.

What troubles me more is the ambiguous "later". Was it later that evening, later that week, etc. It was a highschool aged kid who just had a run in with the law. The parents should have, at the very least, restricted his freedoms as he proved to be irresponsible with them.

I'd make a large bonfire and throw all of them into it and watch them go up in blazes. They have nothing to contribute to society and never will regardless of how they feel now. Remove them from society before another innocent is harmed. Get tough on crime and a lot of that mess will go away for good.

Your under the impression that public schools actually teach kids anymore.. For the last few decades, its been more about making sure kids "graduate" and have high self esteem.. Whether or not they actually learn anything is not even considered..

I agree with others.... Whenever the word video game appears in an article it obviously must be game related. The boy was not set on fire do to the game.. "hes a snitch, hes a snitch" doesn't sound like "hes got my video game". So this is not game related and should not be titled in such a way. Please correct the title of the article to reflect such before this site and all others is closed down by the federal government cause it has info, or is tied to video games in someway. Also for an added word, the boy could have also been in debt over a Transformer, or MP3 player. Don't blame a video game here, if you do then sir you are a moron and you are only looking for excuses to invade and control other peoples lives.

If society starts employing "cruel and unusual punishment" much more often to worthless individuals like this, it'll drop the "unusual" from the title and people will learn quickly. Might even change from "cruel" to "acceptable". Granted crucifixion in this case would probably not work well due to the illusion of martyrdom they may get but a good, old-fashioned tar and feathering would get the point across to these kids pretty well.

[citation][nom]Gin Fushicho[/nom]Seems as though now a days the only emotion is hate.[/citation]

Tell that to the Romans who fed christians to the lions... Seems to be a lot less hate nowadays than at most points in history. It's just more shocking and sensationalized nowadays. Or when Columbus "discovered america" and laid waste to thousands upon thousands of natives, mostly in the name of "god".

Not to say what these kids did was anything shy of barbaric. They deserve to be tried as adults and put in jail for a long time. However, believing we're "more violent today than ever" is really nothing more than wearing some rose tinted glasses.

Jack? WHERE ARE YOU, JACK? These children's parents need you, Jack!

Who else is going to blame the video game industry in order to excuse the parents from raising their kids?

Put those kids down like rabid dogs. With the global population at over 6 billion, and unemployment in this country approaching 10%, feral humans like this are not worth any more time and effort than sticking their heads in a bucket and pulling the trigger.

If they let these kids go easily, they will commit mass murder. It's in their blood. Just watch. Heartless kids like these are rotten in the core and hard to be cured. Lock them up for 2 years then seek help.

Stuff like this is pretty commonplace in the ghetto, where a Wii is like a few ounces of cocaine. Oh wait, cocaine is actually cheaper than that overpriced garbage.
