I'd beat his head to a bloody pulp with his own Playstation.

What's next, a warning to never take your kids' Playstations away from them because they might kill you for it?

I read somewhere that they have Playstations in prisons. Not exactly sure what the reasoning behind that one is. Maybe they were snuck in.

[citation][nom]knekker[/nom]#Scook9Your so right, if you had better parenting you should know better and not make such insanely stupid post acusing the mother of being responsible for him having psychophysical tendencies, resulting in killing people whenever he doesn't get his way.Your the same type of people who believes video games can actually make any people kill others. The truth is some people are like ticking bombs, if they don't kill some one because of video games, or because their video game got taken away from them, they kill some one because someone took his candy, and wouldn't give it back. This kid was already a psychopath before his playstation got taken away from him, you cannot blame bad parenting, when he's mentally retarded. It is allowed to use your common sense, before posting you know, sigh...[/citation]

Realistically it's still the mom's fault.. eventho technically the son will be held responsible. Poor parenting.. nuff said.

Stop generalizing
I'm not generalizing, my conclusion are based on what the boy did to his mom.

No matter how bad parenting he was given, you don't smash their head in while sleeping, then only to drag the half dead body into the oven to try and burn her to death. This kind of behavior screams of phychopath tendencies. The boy is fucked up, don't try blame his mother for that.

This is a damn sad story any way you take it.

But I wonder if the people who blame the parent also blame the parent for everything they did wrong?

Sad and shocking.

Most of us have, some time or the other, felt this 'fit of anger'. To be angry is one thing, but this 'fit of anger', it completely blanks off your mind, and all you want to do is inflict as much damage as possible on who caused the anger. The focus at that moment, it's really intense. Most people, I guess, learn to leave this mode before they can inflict some serious damage.

When I try to think of this kid as a normal kid... I fail to understand how this happened and what was going through his head. When I just stop trying to twist reality and instead accept him as flawed in his head (emotionally or logically or whatever) then it all makes sense.

This was a vicious attack from a disturbed person. Even the article comes of as brutal and it is only a recount of the process he used to kill his mom.

Sad.

Wow. Way to beat that Nature vs Nurture horse, guys. I thought we already decided it was both, didn't we?

Interesting comments, but i my bet is on the following: the kid was on a antidepressants, and yes, the mother's raising method is also to be blamed.

This is what happens when parents don't care for their kids. School wont raise your kid, and neither will PS3, Xbox or any other tool...

Stupid teenagers these days! Don't you know that you have to chop the body up in pieces before sticking the body in the oven! Obviously he wasn't playing the right games to learn properly what to do in that situation.

Sad!

Well he's going to learn a bunch while incarcerated.

If it was for me I would lock him up in a cell, with only a playstation till he dies! He can look at the thing till he dies and remember what he did! Guilt him for the rest of his life....! Ps...with not a single game to play either!

[citation][nom]hemburger[/nom]#knekkerStop generalizing. Perhaps it wasn't entirely his mothers fault perhaps it was, were you there the childs entire life watching every right or wrong move his mother made? The only truth here is that the 16 year old was aggravated enough over a petty incident to murder his own mother, yes this is an indication that the child is incredibly unstable but dont jump to conclusion. Dive deeper into the incident and ask all questions, was the mother partly to blame? Was the child exclusively a complete psychopath? Only time will tell.[/citation]

ill pull this quote from the article
"I couldn't stand the arguing"
this isnt about him getting the playstation taken away, it was just the incident that triggered this.

im currently watching my mom and little brother both have mental breakdowns at the same time. my little brother is a p@#%y and thinks that all the worlds bads happen only to him, and that no one else in the world gets harassed. i think he is a borderline retard, as i don't think that he can honestly be held accountable for his actions. he gets good grades, but is socially isolated because he acts like someone who belongs in an asylum.

my mom cant figure out that he cant be held accountable for his actions and refuses to even consider that he has no real emotions he only fakes them to get his way.

they provoke a screaming fight every few days. and they are both dragging each other further and further down. i honesty wont be surprised if one day, one of them kills the other.

this isnt soley the kids fault, but he isnt blameless either.

How can you kill your mother..? These days the kids are more violent and thrust me when i say that even a kid knows what he is doing so he is responsible.

I have an Xbox 360 raising a kid right now and you say this is no good?

You should be ok ... I raised my first two kids with the original XBOX and the last two with XBOX360 ... haven't noticed anything as of yet.

Will keep you posted.

We did have a PS1 and a PS2 but they are boxed up ... thankfully by the time the PS3 came along we had bought the 360 ... looks like the wife was lucky with that one ... whew !!

:)

[citation][nom]anacandor[/nom]Maybe this just proves that video games promote violence...[/citation]
Or not. 1 incident doesn't disprove a statistical survey.
