As well as before/above mentioned add-ons, I love "Tree Style Tab", "FoxyProxy" and "NewsFox".

Nice article, aside from teh obvious Adblock and Noscript, this covers a majority of what i use. Some more suggestions though (some of these may bave been mentioned, i already forgot):

Web Of Trust (i think everyone should have this add-on)
FastestFox
Hide Caption Titlebar Plus
GoogleEnhancer
IMDB Preview
Omnibar
New Tab King
TabScope
URL Shrink Easy
Startup Master (so you can protect your saved passwords with a master password, and only be pestered for it once per session)

[citation][nom]omaudio[/nom]I use "session manager" and another great is FEBE which backs up all your add-ons. What I really want is an xmarks like add-on for add-ons![/citation]

Thats a great idea. It'd be great if you could create a mozilla account that would keep track of your add-ons, and then you log into it on any PC and download a customized FF installer

Here is what is new to ScrollWheel:
"v0.45.4-6: Less scroll errors, smoother, few more options (refresh-rates, speed), keyboard shortcut to enable/disable, improved scroll in full page zoom, better Songbird support, many small refinements."

As for not including AdBlock and NoScript...relax, everyone! I did not include them because AdBlock has been around for so long, it's considered by many, including myself, to be a no-brainer for web browsing.

@dconnors: Then you should have titled your article "20 best extensions for Firefox - other than AdBlock and NoScript". That, actually, WAS the glaring, missing part of your article that made it lose its credibility: no mention whatsoever of, as one may call them, Teh Staples.

Firefox without TabsMixPlus (TMP) is just too much of a pain in the buttocks. Also, another must-have add-on is Mr. Tech Toolkit. Anyway, Video DownloadHelper, as mentioned here turns out to be a great little add-on. Thanks!

After having mention of AdBlock+ and NoScript, I'm more surprised at the lack of mention of the two add-ons you'll need for managing firefox add-ons, Menu Editor and keyconfig.

As far as browsing real estate is concerned I also use Tree Style Tabs, Tiny Menu and All-in-One Sidebar.

Tab Catalog is also nice when you have multiple tabs open and need to get switch around between them.

Yes popups is also a good popup block. It will block any popup.

none is using Smart Bookmark ?
https://addons.mozilla.org/ro/firefox/addon/4072
Is the only reason i didnt switch to chrome,
I have no more then 64 bookmarks on my Bookmarks Bar, all thanks to this great add-on.
And CoolPreviews is also great, hovering the mouse over a link and a small page open for a quick preview, is great.

xmarks also allows you to use you're own (ftp) server for storage without a user account.

If you combine Ad-Block Plus with Aardvark, Remove It Permanently, and Page Hacker (need Mr. Tech Toolkit to override max version compatibility so you can actually use Page Hacker, as it has not been updated in a while) you can block or modify ANYTHING on the web and customize every site you go to. Must have's for the picky internet surfer, and all can be found at the Mozilla Add-on site.

I am thoroughly disappointed in TV-FOX. It's shown the same NASCAR stuff on ESPN for a week now. So much for live TV.

No Firebug? Also, If you want to get the best deals/prices when shopping online, try out the free money saving browser add-on boo.ly http://boo.ly/

boo.ly adds clickable icons next to shopping search results, giving you easy access to price comparisons, money saving deals, and up to date coupon codes via a “boo.ly window”

You can see an example of a "boo.ly window" here http://boo.ly/ah8
