Baseball bat, apparently.

One of those black buttons might be snooze, let's see:
From left to right:
Button 1 -- Power
Button 2 -- Volume
Button 3 -- Snooze
Button 4 -- Control Your Life

If it can wake up my son and get him dressed while I hit "snooze" I'll buy it!

But this is pretty cool. Might be nice to have a text to voice to read off the appointments too. "You have a call with MegaCorp at 9am and you're reviewing the ROI figures with John at 2pm. Don't forget tonight is your son's karate. I've started the coffee maker, and you should buy more milk on the way home."

The amazing thing is that this isn't all that much science fiction any more. As the data that represents our lives (calendars, etc.) becomes more structured, and with common APIs, you can come pretty close to this with a few rules without having to build enough AI to open an appointment book and read the handwriting.

just wire up any alarm clock "alarm" output to a relay that switches on the electric fence wire running through his bed sheets and viola, that'll get the little ah heck out of bed, easy

how dare you steal my DX! 😛
first person I've seen with the old BBS tag of DX other than me.

@Parsian - It will fall back to locally set alarms if the network goes down, worst case you get up early.
@stopthe_bomb - Snooze is button 3 actually, when you see the UI lit up, there's tabs indicating button functions

Now all its needs is the ability to play music at night then hit max volume to get you out of bed in the morning.

The switching on and off lights is a nice touch that is nice and easy to build with a relay.

Maybe having the LCD turn down real low automatically at night would also be good. Even if it is just a switch(one touch VS going through the menus.) you hit before bed.

and ohh yeah. Bigger speakers.

Very cool idea.
