Flimsy? Cheap Keys? No storage space? I have an Asus and let me tell you, it is a very rugged unit. Way more so than the $2000 or more ultraportables. The keyboard is wonderful and not cheap feeling at all. Oh, and I have a 500GB hard drive in the unit.

Fabulous. Unfortunately, not all Netbooks are created equal. Generally, I think they are a pretty good deal for the price, but on many units I find the keyboards to be problematic.

Where's anything of actual value? All the sleeve's are horribly overpriced. $15 for a sleeve that small? If you think that's a good price you must think Land Rovers's are cheap!

$100 for a keyboard with a stand? You're paying for the privilege of being screwed!

$60 for wireless internet that you will certainly use less than on your desktop or normal laptop? That's as bad as paying $30 for internet on a PDA.

I have a Verizon USB aircard for work, 5GB limit, I use less than 100mb a month on it and I use it a good deal. That's not worth the $70 it costs.

I paid $230 for my Dell mini 9 with BT and Webcam, how can any of you think these low tech crappy items are remotely worth these prices? An entire functional computer for $230, how does that not put price into perspective?

Prices in this country keep going up because consumers no longer have any idea of value. They see SALE and think it's gotta be the best price cause the company telling them this says so.

"One day only sale with no downpayment, get in the car of your dreams this Sunday!" Wow, maybe I should go buy a new car, that's just a fantastic deal!

Companies will keep charging higher prices on everything until we consumers say it's too much, but nobody seems to realize that anymore. "Oh it's only another 10 bucks a month for unlimited texting, that's not so bad." How dumb do you have to be to actually believe that's a good value?

The general population needs to be educated on how much things cost to produce, market, ship, and stock, they'd be absolutely shocked at home much stuff is marked up beyond what a reasonable profit should be. Think Belkin cables, or dare I say it, Monster cables. "Yep that gold plated optical cable is the best you can get." Uhoh, I'm gonna get kicked out of Radio Shack again....

Rachel, how'd that be for an article? How badly people get screwed because they don't know anything about what they are buying?

I've got somewhere around a million examples!

Yes people, I am the single cheapest person you'll ever have the displeasure of knowing.

I'd be much more interested in a positive spin on the same topic: HOW TO Not Get Screwed. Granted, research is the best way to not get screwed, so you'd have to provide a lot of specific examples. Message me if you refine this idea.

I may work on that in what little free time I have. Yes it would be positive but no matter how it's spun someone will always think the "better" opinion is demeaning them. Such is life.

This article is a joke. Still don't really get the point of it... Are these the kind of writers that Tom's hardware hires? Can I send in a resume?
I guess at least they were smart enough to give Rachel here an accessories article. Leave it to the women to write an article about accessories...pshhh and they still can't do it right. Technology=Men

Okay, you've got to be kidding me or looking to stir the pot. This article hardly claimed to be a review of accessories. It is simply a slide show with captions. How would you do such an article differently? I'm all ears.

Honestly you guys what's your problem? Give writers some credit on compiling and researching the article. Do you think writers impose on prices to be that high? sleepychink125.... you need to go to pre school again man. So immature.

Good job Rachel and all at tom's. Keep the articles coming.
