Solved! The fan on my HP laptop runs all the time

Fan runs ALL the time. I don't recall it doing that before. Is there something I need to do to prevent it from burning out?

try setting it manually to not run at 100% all the time using for example Speedfan or something .

change your power settings profile from performance to balanced or power saver.
It could be running all the time due to dust build up inside the case and thus the CPU being hotter than normal which is causing the fan to run all the time.
