the * key keeps pressing repeatedly and randomly am i infected?

i dont know what ive done but when i come on my laptop the * key keeps pressing randomly as if its being held down like ************* and when i try to delete it it keeps pressing am i infected?? help please

Could be a defective keyboard. But the easiest way to tell if you have a virus is to update your virus pgm and run a FULL scan.
