What about people that are unconscious and don't make such gestures? Or what about people already too weak to grasp the device? It really should have a way of picking of people out of the water without requiring gripping the device...

Can we really entrust our lives to humans? After all, they fall asleep, feel ill and take a short walk, leave their position to go to the bathroom and such things. Robots on the other hand, can keep going pretty much all the time. They're much more reliable than humans.

But the truth of the matter is that neither is perfectly safe. Combining both is ideal. The rapid thinking and adaptability of a human and the perfect awareness and reliability of a robot. How much safer can you get?

David H made himself obselete years ago.Heavy computer crunching helps too but the tech is not still quite right. I would think in the next 1-2 gens, it will make it hard to tell if its live or Memorex!
On Dave-real guy, between the fact that he is 60 (dont believe published reports)and his nasty drinking and substance abuse prms, he passed the 100,000 mile mark years ago. Sad but true. The upside for him? He purchased the rights to Babewatch soon after the network dumped it. He is a very wealthy guy today due to a single good biz decision. First: Robots will not make anything obsolete for many more decades, because programmed behaviour can not replace humanity.

Look where all the electronics got us... everything got some chips in it now and everything with electronics is faulty within a few months to years.

Secondly: David Hasselhoff was always obsolete
