the sound on my computer stopped working, help

I have Microsoft Vista. sound worked when I was on vacation but now if I right click the sound it sayd headset., Never had one, never changed anything.

It also says microphone audio device "Not plugged in". I am not very good on the computer, can anyone help me get the sound working?

Right-click on the speaker icon, select playback devices and select speakers.
