Did you use tools like driver booster or similar?

update the BIOS

try installing the touch pad driver (win 8)
if this doesn´t work, get into the device manager of windows and right click on the keyboard (input device or similar), then click left on update driver while connected to the internet

If you get into the BIOS, does this issue happen there too?
Is the caps lock LED getting on or off?

If yes, maybe the keyboard is not correctly connected to the motherboard. Check the ribbon cable of the keyboard inside the laptop, reconnect it tightly.

If this doesn´t help, the keyboard might be faulty.

Something to check... does your laptop have an alternate function, like keypad by hitting a function key or something? What laptop do you have?

My kid has an Acer Spin 3 and she turned on a keypad function that replaced regular key operations and she didn’t know what she had done,
