Then football could be considered as an addiction the same way.
A mass of people play/watch it. Sometimes makes people violent and aggressive the same way (your team loses, then you are angry and go out on the street and start messing around)...etc. Many people are buying the tickets, so they can watch football, wherever their team is playing. Why not call this addiction too?
as for violent kids: only the parents are to be blamed for this. I never played any other shooters and such, until I got 9. The first shooter was the classic UT
The only violent game I played as a kid was Diablo...but that was sometimes too scary for me, so I left it be for the time
