Except if we throw away a keyboard, a pair of headphones, or a monitor, they generally... don't work anymore.

Unless you work in IT. We have a lot of 'waste'. Also when people upgrade they get rid of what they no longer need. I would have 4 keyboards that are in excess at home.

to be honest all these tech companies should have offer trade in service. the amount of 'waste' we had is easily enough to put up millions of computers for the third world country.

I happily to trade in my working Geforce3 Ti200, Ti4200 + top up with Nvidia for a new graphic card.

Yup, and after its life-cycle, where does it end up, in a landfill along with the rest of the "salvaged" kit!

The Concept is great, but do not sell it on the idea of saving electronics from filling landfill sites, this will happen just the same, with little PCB's now being added as well.

Sell it on the Educational purposes!
