Hi,
I have T21 and the fan doesn't blow. System works but crash after a while
becouse of heat. Fan newer start spinning. I took it off and tested on power
supply that the fan itself is functional and it starts spinnig. So the
problem is either on bios or system board fan control unit.
Does anyone have a glue how to check and fix the problem. I was thinking to
put straight 5v to fan and let it blow all a time put after all thats not so
professional way to fix this as I want.
Is it possible that bios is somehow messed up and just don't start the fan?
how to chek this? also one way of thinking is that parts which measure
temperature on system board is not functional. Does Thinkpad use CPUs
internal temp sensor or does it have one on system board near CPU? Any idea
how to check this? There are no temp visible on bios, right?
Anyone knows where the FET's or transistors for fan powering exist?
Thanks!
