Thoughts on Low Carbon PC - Earth

Good Afternoon,

I have been toying with the idea of either buying or building an HTPC for the living room HDTV

The main purpose would be streaming ripped DVDs through home network and online services like Boxee and XBMC.

I have considered putting boxee and xbmc on an Apple TV but heard about issues with streaming 1080p content.

I have looked into the Boxee Box and was leaning towards that until today.

While searching the internet for ideas on home builds ( I was going to try and build an HTPC in my old RROD Xbox360 ) I came across this website.

I have never heard of them before.

I set up the 'Earth' version and got the price down to $318 by using Ubuntu instead of Windows and adding a remote.

This unit uses the Intel Atom 525D 1.8Ghz cpu along with the Nvidia ION2 GPU.

For $318 the 'bang for your buck ' is real good.

I have searched for reviews on the company or their products but I'm not having much luck.

Anyone here have any thoughts or input on this setup?
