How about whether the model can make/take phone calls?

Lets clear up some misconceptions once and for all....

1. Ipad is well rounded - no multi-tasking, can't run programs like photoshop cs4, no usb or sd (ok you have connectors but cost extra $), closed environment, no skype, no video calls....... the list goes on.

2. Windows is not good for touch - yes it is - have you tried it? No not on the Archos 9 - i mean GOOD hardware. Windows is very customizable in terms of button sizes etc. Onenote is a fantastic note program. Have you tried using photoshop with touch!!!

The exopc is one new win 7 slate that is very promising. Out in Oct.

3. The ipad is junk - no it isn't - it is good at what it does. Would I pay $500 for a device with many limitations - no - but many people use it and love it.

4. A win 7 slate is better than an ipad - depends on what you use it for. Win7 is a full os with full capabilities but some may find that too complicated for a media/content/fun device.

5. An ipad is better than a win 7 slate - again depends on what you use it for. If all I want is a secondary device for games, email, web surfing then maybe yes. I get that in a sleek device with nice battery life. The ipad is fantastic if you are not limited by its limitations!

Since when does ipad have 512MB ram ? Correct your chart specs.

As previously commented battery life and capacity is needed.

Secondly your missing the iRobot apad and its variants which you can buy right now for very little money.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the iPad has flash memory and not 16 to 64 Gb HDD (hard disc drive)!
I think that for a mobile device it is quite important if the storage is flash based or a hard disk drive so it might be a good idea to split RAM and HDD category in Operational Memory and Storage and list the type of storage for each device.

The Indian 'Sakshat, 35-50$ tablet. It has 2 GB RAM, wifi, 3G, sim card slot, resistive touchscreen running android/linux and is expected to be launched by mid 2011(prototypes have already been shown)

Isn't the iPad OS now up to 4.2 or something?
