I'm with you victom.. And hell if we're gonna have somebody going for domination who better to end up being under then google anyways. Better then apple/microsoft. Oil companys can only hold on to this world for so long, but once google takes over it's theirs forever!

My ex lives in Topeka.
Maybe I can change around that country song. "All my ex's live in Google, that's while I'll search using Bing!"

If they can actually provide it at an "affordable" price and keep it that way, where do I sign up?????

I HATE Time Warner Road Runner monopoly.......

[citation][nom]icepick314[/nom]I would sell MY sould for 1gb/s fiber optic internet!!!!![/citation]
I would change my name to google, because I could legally. I would even go so far as naming my first born Gmail for 1Gb fiber.

You guys missed out on the whole build up to this. There's been a strong Facebook group to petition for it and a few Topeka Capital Journal articles trying to build up interest city wide. Sure its silly, but I'll be happy when I get that fiber installed. Long live Google if that's what it takes.

You all jump like Google will be the only 1gb fiber connection system. They arent the only ones running fiber and with fiber its easy enough to change ont a PON card to up the network speeds. The second question would be is it a 1gbps network for each person or are you sharing it with your node (IE many people all sharing the same 1gbps connection) Verizon already has fiber and Gpons or gigabyte pons however. They slice it up for each customer. You can get 25/25 or 35/35 right now. And are already in the works for a 100/50 offering.

Kansas is actually a nice state (I was born there). Maybe not Topeka, but several of the other towns are pretty cool, especially Kansas City.

I do however agree that entertainment options are limited so Kansas for a 1Gbps internet is a good choice.

[citation][nom]Sabiancym[/nom]I feel bad for people living in Kansas. Give it to them.[/citation]

Why? Have you ever stepped foot in Eastern Kansas? It's awesome.

2 megabytes per second download is enough for me *I rarely even touch half of that), but my issue is that my upload speed is only 120 kilobytes per second. =(
Too bad Canada is not a prime country for fibre optics, due to the low population density.

How about Dallas next? So I can go watch one of my favourite movies, Debbie does Google. =)

How about changing the name to "ToFreakinStupid"??? I'm sorry I wasted my time reading this.
