Solved! Toshiba 55VX700U HDMI Audio Output

I'm trying to get audio out of a Toshiba 55VX700U on an HDMI port.
According to the manual, this is supposed to work.
But the manual is pretty vague about how to make it happen.
I believe that the HDMI 1 (ARC) connector is the one that is supposed to do it (as the HDMI ports are generally ALL inputs). But I've found no controls that I understand that will turn it ON.
Any advice and directions would be appreciated.

FYI, I plan to go from HDMI output to an audio extractor to RCA audio....

The manual isn't vague it's useless. It may be on by default but you would have to connect the HDMI-ARC extractor and try it.
Why bother with HDMI-ARC? Just use the optical output with a DAC. No loss of quality.
