I have a Toshiba Satellite A350. I had it working with an external monitor because the factory screen was damaged (I actually removed it completely....without damaging any WIFI or factory wires ....only unplugged them at the screen).

Anyway it was working just fine and I left it idle in the morning ....it went into sleep mode.
I tried turning off and on again, it turns on, fan starts working but stuck on black screen.

Lights are all on but now it won't send a signal to the external monitor.
I checked the monitor and cable on another desktop (they worked fine there).

Would appreciate any help. Thanks.

Yes had tried all the F keys individually .....but you know what, I have it working again now.
Took it completely apart today, using an internet guidance video.
While apart I disconnected all "screen wires" off of the motherboard (except wifi antennae blk and white ones).
Removed the old screen hinges, cleaned fan area and re-pasted processor.

Put it all together and it works great (except I need more than 2GB RAM)
So now have just the lower half laptop operating a Dell 14' external monitor
.....all looks clean a tidy.
