Toshiba battery not charging

Hi I have Toshiba satellite which works ok when battery is charged with another laptop. problem is when I plug the power jack it shows that it is pluged and it is charging but battery is running out until it is dead and have to take it out and charge it from another laptop. light that indicates the dc pluged works fine and on the task bar it shows charging. but it does no charge. what is the problem as the dc unit seems to be working fine.

Does it work without the battery fine on the wall plug you use to charge it? There are a few connections on the laptop for the battery, you will need to have a repair shop check those as some may be bad and need re-soldering or need to replace the power plug.
