Toshiba Laptop no audio output device is installed

I restarted my computer today and suddenly there's a red cross on the speaker icon and when I hover over it says "No audio output device is installed". Also, when I run a dxdiag and go to the sound tab, it now says "No sound card was found.
IS ANY ON KNOW THE SOLUTION? thnks

You can try using system restore to return your laptop to it's previous state. You will not lose any files but will lose any programs installed after the date that you choose as the restore point.
