I am trying to repair a laptop for a friend, When i power on the laptop the Toshiba logo shows for about 10 seconds then the screen goes black.

When i try to enter recovery (keep 0 pressed while startup) it does the same.

So i thought i was the HDD but when i connect the HDD to my own laptop it works just fine.

Tried to reinstall windows 8 with an iso, The windows logo shows and then the screen goes black.

i did a virus scan from the mini xp with hiren's boot cd. it found a couple of things but it still won't boot.

replaced the cmos battery.

I'am running out of ideas, do you have any ideas?

Bios is accessable.

Tried another HDD in the laptop with windows 10 installed and it boots and works perfectly!

Ran chkdsk on the other HDD and nothing found. so the problem must be with the HDD.... but what could it be

I've been working on this problem for about 3 days now and now i fixed it.

I connected the laptop HDD to my own laptop and i repaired the HDD with that windows HDD repair tool.

When i put the HDD back into the (broken) laptop it also started repairing.

And guess what. The Laptop boots again!

This problem is solved.
