Question Toshiba Satelite Recovery

My church was given a Toshiba Satelite Laptop, been using it for years. Started crapping out and I am attempting a system restore. Have read all the info on restoration but I am unable to access the recovery part because it asks me for a password (which I don't have) Is there a way to recover the password or change it so I can avoid scrapping the laptop and have to purchase another?

If it asks for a PW you don't have, you can just use a standard Windows setup disk and install it using the Windows key that should be on the laptop. I suggest replacing the drive in the laptop first with a solid state. Past that, we don't allow questions about bypassing passwords on this site since there is no way to verify ownership or rights to get into a system.
