Hello,

I have a Toshiba satellite L355D-s7825 that have Windows vistas operating system. I was recently using it and it just shut down on my. The screen was black but was still lit up. Now when I power it on the screen doesn't come on at all. The power light comes on and so does the fan but that it is. The hard drive light does not come on either. I replaced the memory, battery, charger, motherboard and cpu and get the same result. Does anyone know of anything else it could be or other solutions that I could try. Thanks!!!

Try this...

1. Turn the laptop off (not sleep or hibernate but off).
2. Connect an external monitor to the laptop.
3. Turn on the external monitor.
4. Turn on the laptop.

NOTE: You may have to press an "external monitor" button. Could be the f4 button or a button with two monitors on it, for the external monitor to work.

If you can see fine on the external monitor, then your attached display, or the ribbon cable that connects it, are your problem.

If you can't see on the external monitor at all, or the problem occurs on the external monitor as well, then it is probably the graphics card/GPU that is the problem, which may require the motherboard be replaced.

I tried to hook it up to the external monitor and got the same result. I tried another motherboard and it still didn't work. Does this mean that both motherboards aren't any good or is there something else that would cause these symptoms. I don't know why my hard drive light wouldn't work either. I tried a different hard drive and same result. Any other suggestions?
