Toshiba Satellite PSAA8U Won't keep accurate time

I have a Toshiba Satellite PSAA8U that loses time consistently and I'd like to find out if there's anything I can do to fix the problem. I reset the time, but it just drifts off again within a matter of an hour or two. Does anyone have any ideas regarding what I can try? thanks!

Toshiba Satellite A105, about five years old?
It might be the small battery onboard can't hold a charge and needs replacing.
Sometimes called the CMOS or RTC (real time clock) battery.
