"toshiba satellite" screen showing crazy pattern

my laptop shows crazy horizontal lines running all over the screen...giving greenish display...the text appears doubled, hard to explain!...like shadow under each character. tried the suggested thing of pressing the panel lines...it just won't work.

Hi,

Connect it first into an external monitor and see if it display just fine because if it does it could either be a damaged ribbon cable of the LCD display that connects it to the motherboard or it's the actual screen that it faulty. Lastly try updating the graphics card driver, download and install the latest driver from the manufacturer of the graphics card either NVIDIA or AMD. Here are the link for both manufacturer.
