Toshiba satellite typing keys not working

Keys wont type, everything else is working. Help!!!

I had this issue with my p745, still no idea how to completely fix it, but I did find a temporary fix that worked for me. All I had to do is have the laptop hibernate and turn it back on, the problem fixed itself as I haven't had this issue anymore. This won't be a problem if you don't shut down the laptop, so do hibernation instead of shut down then you're done with the laptop.

I had the same problem with a Toshiba laptop and only took a couple of scans to solve it... can't recall which (antivirus or antimalware) program cleaned it, but I used Avast and Malwarebytes Antimalware. The i8042prt.sys keyboard driver was infected.

the work-around answer is fast and simple. Forget
scanning and registries. Replace keyboard...or,
better yet, use the ms "on-screen" keyboard. You
can set it for "on-top," and it's there to use. Or
easier yet, plug a new (usb) keyboard into the
port...and you're set to go. --New keyboard, maybe
around $15. --Other than making your laptop work
again, your keyboard may be dumping out on you.
