the work-around answer is fast and simple. Forget
scanning and registries. Replace keyboard...or,
better yet, use the ms "on-screen" keyboard. You
can set it for "on-top," and it's there to use. Or
easier yet, plug a new (usb) keyboard into the
port...and you're set to go. --New keyboard, maybe
around $15. --Other than making your laptop work
again, your keyboard may be dumping out on you.
